add support for Instant, LocalTime, LocalDate, LocalDateTime, ZonedDateTime (Year, YearMonth)
and/or the interface Temporal / TemporalAccessor for most flexibility with incoming date implementations.

investigate if this is possible without breaking backwards compatibility
maybe converters or sub classes of components are needed

maybe creating one or more new components is preferable to extending already existing complex components
