Proposed solution

• when a user applies a filter criteria, spreadsheet just fires an event instead of hiding rows. Developers have to implement their own handler to query data from their database with criteria. They have to clear the existing rendered cell data and insert filtered data based on the criteria.
• provide a component scoped library property to switch between the original behavior and custom handler.
